Fist - First Instinct Street Tactics
F.I.S.T. is an acronym for First Instinct Street Tactics and is a compressed course designed to develop self defense proficiency for the non-martial artist. F.I.S.T. is unique among self defense courses in that instead of trying to supress the natural reaction instinct, it encourages students to allow that First Instinct to occur, then respond in a manner that reduces the immediate danger. F.I.S.T. training does not rely upon advanced martial arts techniques, but rather simple strikes that can be easily mastered. Additionally, F.I.S.T. teaches the student to recognize numerous items that can be used as weapons in an emergency; weapons as varied as a car keys to a common, everyday pen. F.I.S.T. training is highly realistic and places the student in common attack situations: entering a car, fighting in a closed space like an elevator, or responding to a surprise attack from behind.
